Allison Holt

Allison Leigh Holt is an artist and researcher based in San Francisco, CA. She has exhibited nationally and internationally at such venues as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Yogyakarta International New Media Festival, the Boston Cyberarts Festival, and Howard Yezerski Gallery, and has held solo exhibitions at Axiom Gallery for New and Experimental Media, the Boston Jung Institute, the Olympia Film Festival, and at Cemeti Art House (Yogyakarta, ID) where she was awarded an artist residency. Other resident- and visiting-artist roles include the Experimental Television Center, the Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum, the Kala Art Institute, and UC Santa Barbara's College for Creative Studies. Holt has taught classes that blend critical and structural thinking, design basics, and new media at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum, and Institute Seni Indonesia, Surakarta, and has been invited to speak at symposia such as cellsbuttons#04 and #05 at the House Of Natural Fiber (Indonesia), and Video Vortex #07 (Indonesia). She received a BA from the Evergreen State College and an MFA from the Studio for Interrelated Media at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. From 2009 - 2010, she was the recipient of a J. William Fulbright Research Fellowship to Indonesia through the US Department of State.

Holt performed at the Fourteenth Annual Activating the Medium Festival in 2011.
